What is an Integrated Child Center?

Integrated Child Center:

At an Integrated Child Center (IKC), childcare, education, and after-school care work closely together at one location with the goal of creating a continuous learning pathway for children from 0 to 13 years old.

At IKC Sloterdijk, this means we operate as one team, with one identity and one shared vision for learning, development, and collaboration.

Rather than focusing on age or grade level, we take each child’s individual development and growth as our starting point. To support this, we offer a rich daily program that emphasizes experiential learning, discovery-based education, open learning spaces and themed classrooms, mixed-age groups, individualized learning, and a strong sense of community in which children live and learn together.
